Lucky Jessica!

Jessica and her family are in America! We can tell by the photos that she is having a great time. We are looking forward to seeing her and her photos soon!

Gotcha

Today Mrs MacKenzie taught us a new game called Gotcha. You get into circle and you put your left hand out, you have to have it flat or you are cheating. Then you put your right finger in neighbours palm. Somebody says a number. Then they call out a bunch of numbers until they get to the number that they said first. When the number is called out you remove your finger and try to catch your neighbours finger at the same time. Play this game and tell us how it went.

Lost and Found

On Tuesday the whole entire class played hide and seek.I ran to hide in the bush so I couldn't be found. When I knew I was completly hidden I waited and waited and waited.Suddenly I saw Emily and Alex P.I was as still as a stone until they finally left."Phew"I whispered.A wasp flew into the bush and buzzed like a fly. All three seekers were beside the pool.I spied on them until they ran to find everybody elsewhere. The wasp then left. I heard the bell ring so I left for lunch.

Do you know what these are?

We spotted all kinds of interesting things on our nature walk. We took photos of these because they were so strange. Do you know what they are? Can you find out for us and record what you know as a comment under the pictures. Let's ask Mrs Steadman when we go to the Allen Centre and see if she can answer our questions too.

Thank you very much!

A big thank you to all of the helpers that came to camp. Thank you also to all the parents that worked hard behind the scenes to make sure everyone had all the equipment they needed.

Our Whare Flat Tramping Adventure

Last Monday, Outram School Year 4 students went on an exciting adventurous tramp. The tramp was the first of our Tirohanga Camp activities.

We travelled in cars in convoy to get to the start of the Whare Flat tramp. After walking for five minutes up a dirt road we came to a sign that said "track". We walked for two or three minutes before we came to a creek. We walked across the creek holding onto a wire. Some people got wet feet, some people fell in!

Next we headed up a muddy track. After about twenty minutes we stopped at the top of the hill in a pine forest, to have a late morning tea. Then we started to go downhill and across a ridge line. We passed a hut, and followed the water race for a long time before we came to another creek. We crossed the rippling fresh creek on stones and pulled ourselves up a muddy slippery slope with a rope.

We followed Mrs Lord and Alex P along the track until we came to a crossroad in the track where we had to head downhill. At the bottom of the hill we found a clearing with a swing bridge, we had lunch before we crossed the bridge.

After crossing the swaying swing bridge we came to a ford. We all got wet feet walking through the ch-ch-ch-ch-chilly water. At long last we saw the cars.

What a mintage adventure!
